What is the situation?

These are some signs that a shy guy friend of mine might like me:
-He asked my friend if i fancied this guy that I had just met and was talking to one night
-He starts singin a ryhme with my name in it
-When we went clubbing he took my hand and danced for a bit
-He asked my friend where I was the other night when I didn't come
-We talk every day on msn & he sends me songs I might like
-In a group he stands near me, talks to me but doesn't say much in terms of a conversation

signs he doesn't
-my friend asked him ages ago when I first met him if he liked me and he wouldnt answer, after her nagging him he said not really
-he calls me by my surname sometimes because my best friend does that lol
-He's not a flirter-har to read him
-He hasn't asked for my number only msn
-only see him in a group

Let me just say this, it doesn't matter. The fact is unless one of you puts themselves out on a limb, its like that old chinesse proverb. If a tree falls in the woods and noones there to hear it does it make a sound? Instead its more like when to people love each other and no one says anything does it mean anything? The answer is no, on both parts, it doesn't matter. What matters is you or him making something out of it. You can sit in debate about it for the rest of your life and the fact is its only the frist baby step on a long, long road to an actual geniune relationship. If neither one of you can make that frist step, then ask yourself, are you even ready for it? From my own experience I'd say no, drop it, unless on of you has the passion to move forward, it doesn't matter..... just like the tree....
