To go along with my other question. I know they tell you to expect back pain while pregnant, but for the past few hours it has been throbbing. Is this just the baby or could it be contractions. But it is there and doesnt go away.

Try changing your position. Get on all fours and stay that way for a bit, does the pain stop? Are you able to lay on your side or do anything to alleviate the pain? As far as long as you are the baby is beginning to turn and get ready to be born. He/she will begin to slowly turn (if she hasn't already) and then begin a slow decent. Some stages of this process put more pressure on your body than others. As your baby gets lower, your body has to adjust to a different way of carrying that extra weight so it causes more pain. If you're not already, you probably will begin feeling pain in your inner and way upper thighs that may cause you to waddle. Normally contractions are more of a cramping than just a constant pain. However, if it continues call your doctor's office. It never hurts to check!

Try going down on all fours and arch your back like a cat stretch. This will let the baby fall forward to the front of your stomach and take some of the pain away. If that doesn't work, try a heating pad on your back for about ten or so minutes. If that doesn't work, take a warm bath or shower. Tylenol is the safest thing a pregnant woman can take if the pain is unbearable. Another thing to try, drink a glass of water, go to the bathroom, and lay on your left side for about an hour. If it is contractions, you will know it. Trust me. They hurt. Try breathing exercises. Change what you are doing and see if the pain gets worse. For instance, if you are up and about, lay down for a little while. If you have been sitting or laying down for a while, then get up and walk around your house. If you change your activity and the pain gets worse, then it might be contractions. I am just telling you all of what I have been told so far.

If the baby is sitting in the lower back area then that could be the pain you are feeling. But see if your stomach gets really Hard and then Soft and Hard again. Sometimes you should just check with your Doctor and see what he or she thinks. If this is your first you can expect just about anything. But if it's your second or more...it's like riding a bike. You know how it feels and what to expect. Good luck and God Bless. Take Care!

If it were contractions it wouldn't be constant throbbing. It would come and go.
NO, it would not necessarily feel like a bad period cramp, Jessieboyd. Just because yours did, it doesn't mean that EVERY woman's labor is exactly like yours, and you are by NO means an expert in the field.

If it were contractions it would go away and come back, furthermore it would feel like a really really bad period cramp or a back ache like you get when you are on your period. It could be the baby sitting closer to your back and if you have been really active, you could have hurt yourself. Prop your feet up, put a pillow under your knees and put a heating pad on low heat on your back, maybe take some IBprofin...its safe to take while pregnant.

probable tendons, probable braxon hicks, probable the stress of a starting to be uterus. Pinched nerves, pulling muscular tissues and ligaments, fake labor.. being pregnant, exceptionally at this factor, it incredibly unsightly. If theyre contractions they might desire to pass away once you lay down and drink a tumbler of water for a whilst. and you shouldnt have better than 6 in an hour. those are warning signs or preterm labor. although, in view that theyre low and sense like era pains, iam taking photos extra in direction of braxon hicks.

Some women have "back labor". If they are contractions, you will be able to time the pains.

It could be anything, but one thing it definitely means is that you should take it easy.

Sit with your feet elevated for most of the day, and don't run up and down the stairs AT ALL.

Avoid permanent damage. Take it easy.
