No! I don't smoke. I have seen too many people suffer and die from the long-term effects of smoking, both personally and in my job. It is sooo addicting and does such devastating things to the body!
Ever see anyone with end-stage emphysema using all the strength they have just to take another breath? Or watch someone die slowly and painfully from cancer? Or - better yet - watch someone have both legs amputated because their vascular disease was so bad that their feet had turned gangrenous? It is awful, awful, awful!!!
Keep smoking, and I guarantee that your "golden years" will become a tarry black hell. There are people who don't want to see you suffer and die. Give it up, people!

Yep. And I struggle to grasp why others have such an opposition to my smoking. It's a personal preference. I am fully aware of the health risks, the scent, the taste. My girlfriend also smokes, and neither of us have any problem kissing each other. I understand that others don't like second-hand smoke, and I am reasonably mindful of that when in public [stand downwind, blow smoke away from others]. In fact, I don't smoke in front of *any* young children [habit from when I taught preschool]. People who try and get me to quit, specifically complete strangers on the street or on the internet, confuse and piss me off to no end. If my family, friends or girlfriend wanted me to quit, I'd consider their points. They are people who care about my well-being in general, not people who want to jump on a high horse and lecture strangers on their own life choices.

Its Just Me - Good job! Had to get that out!
The second Wed. of April was my two-year mark of quitting cold turkey! No patches, no gum. I just decided that I didn't want to smoke anymore so I stopped!
It was one of the best things I've done and I don't regret it!

I've never smoked......... never will. I've seen the effects on people I love. That's enough right there to make me NEVER want to smoke.

Yes I smoke. Honestly, you couldn't do anything to make me quit. It's all up to me to decide to quit. I have thought about it, but never actually tried. I guess I don't have the desire to quit yet.
