I was wondering what kinds of questions i will be asked on a placement test. Will it be a test on skills or knowledge? What i mean is are they testing to find out what you already know ,or how well you are able to use information to solve a problem question?

they test you on your math...reading...and comprehension...basically to see what you know and where they should place you so you can go into the college level classes that you need to take to graduate...sometimes you score high enough to go directly into comp or college algebra...other times if your score is at a certain level they have to place you in a reading or writing class to prep you for comp...or an elementary algebra to get you ready for math...

College level classes go over material really fast, you have to have a good foundation in the basics or you fail. They don't want you to fail, therefore they give you the placement tests to determine what level of class you should be in. The tests cover math/algebra/english etc.. standard stuff.
