Most go into the stands as foul balls. A few end up there as homers, but there are plenty of areas in plenty of ballparks where home runs land, but are not accessible to fans. When this happens, stadium staff get them and either toss them to the stands or take them home themselves. If it lands inthe bullpen, a player will usually toss it up to a kid leaning over the rail.

When a ball is deemed unusable by the umpires, say after it has been thrown in the dirt and scuffed, it is thrown into the batting practice sack to be used for BP or infield/outfield practice.

majority goes into the stands. If it's a homerun it goes in the stands, if it's a foul t goes there a lot because major league players hit a lot of foul balls!

I would say into the stands in foul territory whether they be hit there or thrown there by a player/coach/ball boy.

majority end up in the stands. If home run, it goes in the stands, if foul it ends up in the stands. Unless it's a ball put into play, the outfielders often throw the dead balls (i.e. 3rd out) into the stands.
