Is she still pulling, rubbing, grabbing at the ears? Does she cry when she drinks her bottle? Maybe drinking less? If so, it could be that the ear infection is still there.

Also, at 7 months she could be teething. You can rub your fingers at the bottom of her gums to feel for rough spots (teething breaking through) or a little blister (meaning it's working on breaking through). If it's that just give her some infant tylenol. Mine hated the orajel!

DON'T ALTERNATE WITH TYLENOL and MOTRIN unless you have confirmed it's okay with your peditirican. Mine told me NOT to do this as they are finding this leads to kidney problems later.

You can even put a wet wash rag in the freezer (I rolled it up) and once frozen she can chew on that. In an emergency I've taken an ice cube and put it in a wash rug and held it to my son's mouth. That way he can chew on the rag and the ice will make his gums cool. The rag is abrasive and feels nice...doubly so when its cold. You could carefully rub the ice where his teeth are coming in as well.

With teething my son had looser stools and a bad diaper rash. Those might also be signs for you as well as a low grade fever.

Have you given her any different foods? It could be gas. Bicycle her legs while she lies on her back. It'll help relieve the gas if there is any. You can begin to rule out what is causing the gas too. Too much cereal, or a new food (green beans and peas did it to my son...he's 15 months and still can't digest them). Mylacon (Milacon) drops work well as well as gripe water to get rid of excess gas.

This isn't normal behavior for her and I suspect something else is going on. It could also be she's going through a growth spurt and needs some extra food...watch her after she eats. Is she content? Does she nap well? Offer a mashed banana or an extra jar of apples see if she takes it.

Usually they don't get used to the extra treatment they get when sick. They normally fall back into their regular routine. Like you young children crave a routine and are eager to get back to it. So, I don't think she's gotten used to whatever comforts you gave her while she had the infection.

If you need to step out of the house for a few minutes. I'd take the monitor with me (mine I could turn off the sound and see the red lights meaning he's still crying). Just until you feel you have regained control of the situation. I
Good Luck momma!

As everyone has said her ear infection could have returned or she is teething. Sometimes, when a child has been sick for more than 5 days and he/she has been carried and coddled for that time or more they have learned that every time they cry they get attention, carried, food ect. I would check to see if there is a fever first. Hold her to get her calmed down then take her temp. Check her gums and see if they are redder in spots, also check her throat and look at her lymph glands. When my daughter started cutting her teeth (seemed like forever) she had constant ear infections about 1 every other month. Some were so severe that she would have an extremely high fever. Alternating tylenol and motrin every 4 to six hours usually can control the fever and the pain but no more than 5 days, if still having pain and swelling in the gums what worked best for me was a clean with no softner wash cloth soaked in a glass of a tsp of salt and 1 1/2 cups water. I wrung it out put left enough moisture in it and put it in the freezer for about an hour and my daughter would teeth on it. She didn't like the teething rings at all. She would suck and chew that towel and with the salt in it would help deter infection and help with throat soreness. I would leave her to cry herself out for at least 10 minutes and you go outside and relax for that time then check on her every 5 to see how she does. If she is still crying after 30 mins call the doctor and have them look at her. I have my own 2 children and after trial and error you find out what works. But, like I said she may have the bad case of the "coddles" and is working it to her advantage. Try what I have said and let me know if it helped or if she is trying to have another ear infection. Let know if she is ok. Good luck.

I would say either still has an earache or like the other answer maybe teething. Teething is very common at this age. Try some oragel or homeopathic teething tablets (walgreens, cvs, most any drugstore) because oragel doesn't last long. If you are using tylenol for her pain, try switching to motrin. Using the same pain meds constantly, will cause them to not work as well. Try alternating. Anyway if you try oragel and it helps, you can give the teething tablets at the same time to help when the oragel wears off. It could be lots of things, but if none of this helps, then you have to call the doctor.

If you have a friend close to you, call them and have them come over just so you can have a short break. If not, put her in her crib or safe place (bouncer) and walk outside for a couple minutes, leave the door open, but get away for a minute to clear your head and take deep breaths to relax. It can be very overwhelming when a baby cries and cries and you can't comfort her. I would take her back to the pediatrician to have her checked again because if she is still that fussy maybe her ear infection hasn't cleared up or its developed into something else. Until you can get her in, try taking a warm wash cloth, make it warm, but not too hot and try holding it on her ear. If it's an infection the heat will help sooth it. Be sure to take a deep breath and relax, everything is going to be okay!!!

Poor mom! I know how that goes, it breaks your heart, and it gets a little frustrating because they can't tell you what's wrong. It would be easy to say just hold her, but you have things you have to do, too. Just relax, it's okay if the dishes don't get done, it's okay if someone else has to make dinner, let all of that go. You are not a bad mom because you don't know why your baby is crying - they just cry sometimes. It could be she still has an infection, if she keeps it up for another hour, call the doctor.

boy, tough one since sometimes a baby just needs to cry. Antibiotics will tend to make a baby cranky and feeling sick will do the same too. I know I still want snuggled when I'm sick. I would give her dr. a call before he leaves the office today and mention what's been going on and how now she wont stop crying. Maybe her ears need a recheck. that can be so painful for a little one. I hope it works out and she stops! If she won't stop crying to eat or nurse, I would call a.s.a.p something really might be going on.

Take her to the doctor! My 10 month old had the same thing. She went through the 10 day script it didn't work so we had to get something stronger and take that for another ten days. Her ears hurt that's why she cry when you put her down. Never assume that because she had medicine she is better. Take her in the poor sweetheart is in pain. In the mean time give her some Tylenol.

If she has been crying for 2 hours, she is probably hungry now even if that wasn't what started the crying.

Have you taken her back to the dr to make sure the ear infection has cleared up and no secondary infections have started?

If when she was sick you held her more, that is what she has gotten used to and may just want you to keep holding her.

You need to take her to the doctors. The ear infection could be back or it could have developed into something else. Some antibiotics don't work on all children. Omoxocilian has no affect on my son. He had an ear infection for almost 3 months. We thought it was different ear infections but it was the same one over and over again and it developed into a resporitory problem because it got into his lungs.
