Yes.I don't take either of those things and that means that I don't suffer the ill-effects that follow from indulging in them excessively.A clear head is a good start to a good social life.I do have some good friends - some drink, some don't, I have books, I have music and films - that means gigs and the cinema - no drink or drugs required there.I have regular evening walks and go to the gym 3 times a week and I meet up in town for a coffee with people I know - again no drink or drugs needed. There are clubs you could join to pursue an interested with like-minded people, something I must investigate myself. You CAN have a social life without drink and drugs.

in a word; yes. i have lived both sides of the coin, and can personally say that a night out without any alcohol can be enjoyed just as much as the alternative. I was able to appreciate my friends, and the good time that we were all having more than when on alcohol, because everything that you feel is real when it isnt inhibited by alcohol. You also remember alot more the following day. I did find that my not drinking affected my friends more than myself!!!
all this is not to say that drinking doesnt make for a good night, because i enjoy a drink as much as the next guy, but sometimes i choose to take a break from it all; it allows me to enjoy it more the next time.

Definately! Naturally High thats what i say! I mean whats wrong about having a nice non-alcoholic drink? So just go enjoy yourself man! Also lots of people including me have never taken drugs and i'd like to think i'm quite a outgoing person. I mean i socialise with my alcoholic and non-alcoholic friends and and we're like a house on fire! x x

Yes of course, I've never tried drugs and have a good social life with my friends. My boyfriend doesn't drink or do drugs and has a great circle of friends. So yes, it is possible

If you cannot lead a normal social life without chemical support of some kind, the lack is within yourself.
Surely you have some inner resources without having to turn to artificial depressants or stimulants. No?

definitely. I don't smoke, (stopped 20yrs ago) have never taken drugs, (a bit of dope when I was about 19) and hardly ever drink (always driving, so I drink at home perhaps once a month)
I love going out, for meals, to cinema, to BBQs, pub quiz nights, clubs, etc. I like to watch people lose their inhibitions after a few drinks- they look so daft, whilst I'm fully aware of what I'm doing & saying

I don't drink, smoke or do drugs and I don't have a social life at all. I think I would rather be that way.

Well, it depends on what you mean by 'normal".If you were to ask our culture, it would say, "No, you have to let looses and do what feels good".....but if you were to ask a wise person he/she would say, "No, do not be normal. Do not be like the rest of the world. Take care of your body and reputation. Would you want to tell your future children that you did drugs(which would make you a hippocrate). In sort, no, but I do not want to be a "normal" person by the world's standards

Come hang out with us! We don't do drugs or alcohol either!
We are going camping in July with the rest of my family who are also non-alcoholic. We are a fun group.
Seriously, find a happening church group in your area and join up with them. Most church groups are non-alcoholic and still have a lot of fun while keeping busy with all kinds of activities. There's a group in my town who regularly have Christian rock and Christian rap concerts, they have a church service just for Harley-Davidson riders, they have their own skate ramp and BMX track for the kids, and they regularly have camping trips up to the lakes in the nearby mountains and go boating with ten or twelve families bringing up and sharing boats, jet skis, wave runners, and wakeboards.
Just because we are non-alcoholic doesn't mean we are nerds!
