Yeah whats the poll based on. It could be that our military wants to be able to kill first without having to be shot at. Maybe our soldiers want to use more cluster bombs, and be able to blow up any Mosque. You look through liberal colored glasses.

sure, there are extremely some. a lot of them are neofascist, or populist, yet they attempt to bypass themselves off as conservatives or populist. all of them are overtly racist, inciters against immigrants gays, and recommend removing of all " foreigners " whether they're citizens. no longer even the main rightist Republicans can experience them , The Republicans, generally and a few Democrats are racist, xenophobic gay Bashers and Isalimic bashers., yet deny being so. no longer the Neo Fascists Examples are many front Nacionale ( Le Pen ) the BNP in the united kingdom, the Swiss human beings's celebration, The League of families Partyin Poland, the Jobik celebration in Hungary, the Fascist celebration of Italy, and , Flam Tricolore the Volks Partei in Germany, the Vlaaams Blok in the Netherlands ,in basic terms to grant some examples. regrettably those events have become tronger like the Tea Partyiers in the USWe have a great conflict dealing with us. We have seen this poll used on this forum many times and it's old and outdated.
I live near a military facility and deal with people who are in the service on an almost daily basis. Most of them have been to Iraq and back at least once, and many have been there twice. They are the ones who have the first-hand information of exactly what is going on over there.
I have yet to meet one person who thinks that we should pack up and move out. They are bright enough to realize that if we do that, we place many Iraqi's who have stood by us, supported us, in grave danger.
Whether or not people like this President, is of no relevance, but doing the right thing at this point, is of relevance.
So we can sit here 24/7 and bash Bush, but that doesn't solve any problems, does it?
How about some good problem solving questions!

Despite the stereotype that the military is all conservative, it's actually more like 50 / 50% Republican or Democrat. So, when you poll 35% of them and the results are close to 50 / 50 I don't see any discrepancy in the numbers. As for their strong disapproval, you can ask the 35%.

NOBODY in the military is supposed to disapprove of or second-guess the commander-in-chief.
Even if the poll was 80/20 for Bush, one-in-five against is HUGE.

We don't approve of Bush because he has tied our hands with restrictive rules of engagement, and insane policies that don't help us fight the war.
We do support the war and want to win, but he hasn't done us any favors. The poll doesn't tell the whole truth.

You could improve your presentation if you would include the Military's opinion of the Dems. For you information, they are much lower than Bush's. (I am no fan of either)

Looks like they're buying into the liberal propaganda.
How about this poll from the same site:
Should the U.S. have gone to war in Iraq?
Yes 41%
No 37%
No opinion/no answer 9%
Decline to answer/no answer 11%
OR HOW ABOUT THIS ONE:
Do you approve or disapprove of the way George W. Bush is handling his job as president?
Approve 52%
Disapprove 31%
No opinion 6%
Decline to answer 10%

They don't approve of Bush's handling of the war and the American people don't either but it's not because the war is wrong it's because Bush won't let them do their job. We're repeating the mistake of Vietnam by trying to wage a politically correct war. There is no such thing.
The job of a military is to kill people and break things not to be baby sitters. We stopped the shock and awe to soon in my book.
