Here's the first problem with that. It would cause drastic injury to an opponent. And that could lead to a few of your best hitters getting plunked when they come to the plate.

Here's the second problem with that. No team is willing to sacrifice a spot on the bench for William Perry. You need to have that left-handed bat to come off the bench; or that 13th pitcher when your bullpen gets spent.

Here's the third problem with that. It makes more sense to use that bench spot for a guy who can beat the throw, a speed guy. The speed guy is going to be a lot more useful. Where do you put the Fridge if he has to go into the field? There is no place for a defensive tackle in baseball.

In short, it might look cool to watch Rod Barajas get plowed over, but it does more harm to the game than good.

There are plenty of major leaguers over 200 lbs., and there have been many awesome collisions at the plate over the years. Just ask A.J. Pierzinski.

No the umpire would just simply toss the runner out and probably the other runners too.

If the catcher was AJ Pierzynski or Yadier Molina, I would pay money to see it....and then I would laugh.

That term is "football fan".

Go surf the NFL websites, please.
