I saw him in person the first time in 1967. I saw Jimi perform in person about ten times. I would say his inspiration came from within. He was always smiling and happy on stage, you could tell that he loved what he was doing more than anything else.

from the time he was twelve years old he started playing guitar and people who knew him said he always had a guitar in his hand at all times. He played constantly and that's what made him so brilliant on the guitar.

I saw all the incredible stars of music in the sixties, as I lived in Los Angeles, including the Beatles, but no one had the magnetism and the power to transport me with his music (without drugs) except Jimi Hendrix.

what do you mean used to be? he still rocks my face and i am just in awe at the things he could do!! he was just amazing, ~*RIP*~ i dont know what inspired him, though.....i would look for a book on him, i know that they have one at borders, either that or i would google him, im sure that they have a lot of fansites for him! and sometimes that i think that the fansites have more info than official sites, good luck and youve got a great taste in music!
