According to several shows and studies, Oprah included, there is scientific evidence to support the theory that elevation of the pelvis will promote conception.

There are also theories that having an orgasim during intercourse is the only way to completely concieve because during an orgasim the cervex opens up and allows for the sperm cells to enter the uterian cavity were the egg may be sitting.

There is also a theory that the sexual position helps promote conception. If all these are true then how did my wife and I get 4 children.

MY wife never elevated her bottom, my wife seldom has orgasims and we had sex in the 4 posistion that are least likely to lead to conception yet we have 4 children as I stated earlier.

Well, yes it does help a little when you elevate your bottom after sex... It helps the sperm swim towards the right path.... I was trying to conceive for 2 months then on month # 3 my friend told me to try to put a pillow below my bottom after i have sex & just lay down for 20 or 30 mins and well i tried this and i dont know if it was a coinsidence but on month #3 when i tried thid IT WORKED! So if you are trying then i suggest you try doing this! you have nothing to lose! Good Luck! =)

Honestly I don't believe any of those theories. Following intercourse I use the rest room and moved all around and I now have a five week old baby so all those theories don't work. Just have sex at your most fertile times and you should conceive when the time is right.

My mom told me she tried for along time and couldnt get pregant and some older lady told her to after intercourse to put her legs up in the air and lay there for about a half hour like that other person said, and it helps. I would do that once or twice and if nothing happends, just let it happend naturally whenits soposed to, and if it doesn't get checked if theres a reson you and your husband arn't able to concieve.

It's one of those things that isn't always necessary to achieve pregnancy. However, it can sometimes increase your chances by keeping as much semen from leaking out, as can happen if you stand up and go to the bathroom immediately. The more semen there is the better chance you have of achieving pregnancy, barring any other issues.

I agree with Lady E, just have fun with it. Do it on your most fertile days and they will swim no matter what you do.
