you are asking two separate questions. As for the maintenance reminder, that is reset at the time the oil is changed by whoever does the oil change. The reminder is reset by pushing the ignition key into the slot next to the reminder. That will turn the light back to green. they may not have reset the light; the oil change interval was 3750 miles on that car so it may have been that long since you had the oil changed.

The overheat is unrelated to the oil. If the fans are running when you shut the car off you are very low on coolant in your radiator. the chances are you have a leak at the top tank of the radiator. First of all, have someone check the level of the coolant in the coolant overflow bottle when the car is cold. If you can't see fluid in the bottle, then take the cap off of the radiator (the engine must be off and the car must be cold!!). if you can't see the water level in the radiator, fill it up with water. If you see white calcium crud around the top of the radiator or a green liquid puddled up on top then your radiator is leaking.

if the radiator is full of coolant and the car is overheating only when you are at a stop then the problem is with your primary radiator fan. If the fan is running with the car shut off, chances are the fan is good. if you have air conditioning on the car, turn the a/c on when the car is running hot and see if the temperature comes down. If it doesn't come down with the A/C on and the car is at a stop, the problem is with the thermostat.

My guess is you're going to find the radiator is low on coolant and that you have a leak in your radiator.

hope that helps

u have 2 things the green yellow red indicator is only by mileage if its not reset then its of no use...theres a little black button thats almost flush with the plastic of your use your key and mash the button in that will reset your indicator...now for the running hot u said u hear fans running when u shut it off so that takes them out of the question...but i have seen probably almost 100 of these model cars that have had cracked radiators...they usually crack at the top tank if u look u ill probably see antifreeze residue on your hood and the front of the engie that will take care of that probloem

The most likely cause of your dilema is:

1. your water pump is malfunctioning or the temperature regulator is. the temp regulator is a mechanism that controls the flow of water from the radiator to the engine, at engine start this is usually closed to help the engine to warm up and opens fully when the temp is in operating range, but if it malfunctions, you overheat.
2.one of your radiator fans are busted or malfunctioning, one of the fans is connected to your airconditioning and should automatically turn on when the engine reaches a certain temperature, most likely thats whats making your car overheat

but since you said that it goes hot at the stop light, I would bet on the radiator fans.

it incredibly is the Ignition Crontrol Module, this may well be someone-friendly project with hondas. now and returned the vehicle will initiate positive and now and returned the vehicle basically won't initiate. The Module is a silver field placed above the guidance column, in the back of the sprint. It expenses fifty 5 money and in basic terms takes approximately 10 minutes to alter.
