The University of Maine is the biggest school in our state, and not everyone on the team I saw has a back handspring. But if you watch nationals on TV you'll see most teams have a minimum of a bhs up to double fulls and more.

I would get started on those back handsprings and tucks. Can you get into a gym for lessons? At the very least start doing drills:

It'll depend on the college your going to and how good their cheerleading team is. If your going to a team with a lot of national championships and are really good, you're going to have to do more advanced skills then a not-so good team. For college you'll probably have to do at least a back handspring.
