Excellent points. This is what's called propaganda and fear mongering.

Why not show us?
The reason is simple- who wants to type or scan all the hate mail so the rest of the citizens can read it? And would the citizens even WANT to read through thousands upon thousands of hate letters?
Not to mention, the reason some may want to remain anonymous is so they do not get harassed. Also, if every one of these letters were to be published for the general public with the names of the writers, I'm pretty sure there would be a LOT of harassment to those people with the different viewpoints than people who are for illegal immigration laws.

California's Senators are both Jewish. I am sure they have gotten plenty of hate mail. How will they "prove it"? They are not likely to keep every piece of mail they ever received. The particularly disturbing one may be kept in case something happens to them. You will find this true with everyone on the hill. When someone receives thousands of pieces of mail daily and thousands of emails too the task you require would eat up tax payer money to do something meaningless. I know Congress is good at that already but why ask for more of it?

I'd like to see ALL the mail - pro and con - along with a running tally.
What is meant by "racist," I wonder? And now many PRO-bill messages were also "racist" under that definition?

So they are receiving racist mail. From whom. Surely not from the white community and every one knows black people arn't racist. So it must be the Latinos through a process of elimination

I don't see why you have to see someone's mail, its up to them if they want to share it.
personally I'd like to see some of the statements in the letters.
I think people should be able to send in things anonymously. what if you have a job where you need recommendation and are thus judged on your personal life. you have to keep all non-popular views to yourself. having anonymous letters allows you to have a voice and protect your privacy.

Even if they showed you, would you believe it and change your mind?
Probably not. You'd still say they were making it up. So who cares?
That said, I agree with you that people who can't stand behind their comments are worthless. I always sign my letters to Congress. They know who I am and where I live.

That is because the legislation that is racist to Americans created that hate. She should be annoyed. That's the point , they will not push this amnesty bill through until the laws we currently have are enforced and the border is controlled to stop illegals.

Why, because politicians love to drop lines that are never proven..Americans this, Canadians that...it is a common occurrence and very few like yourself ever question them and the media like lemmings enhance the line without any proof.
