I'm doing GCSE so the answer should be pretty basic. I thought proteins were used to make cellulose or does it make chloroplasts. Really confused as all i'm seeing is plants convert nitrates into amino acids thus proteins. So what do plants use proteins for.

proteins in plants are mainly enzymes and structural molecules. Cellulose is not a protein, but chloroplasts contain proteins.

Plants use proteins for the same things as animals do - which is to say: everything!
Cellulose (the plant cell wall) is not a protein - its a carbohydrate (sugar), but it is secreted and laid down by proteins (enzymes) inside the plant cells.
Some example funtions of proteins that both plants *and* animals display:
Packing of DNA - the DNA inside the nuclei of cells doesn't just flop loosely around, it is tightly packed and regulated by many, many different proteins.
Replication of DNA - (hopefully you'll be studying this at GCSE) the enzymes that power DNA replication are, of course, proteins.
RNA synthesis, transcription and translation (again, hopefully you're doing this at GCSE) - the process of DNA being translated into mRNA, and the mRNA being transcribed via tRNA into proteins. This is all performed by ... you guessed it, other proteins. BTW - ribosomes, where the transcription happens, are made of rRNA and ... proteins.
Energy synthesis and metabolism. Chloroplasts and mitochondria contain lots and lots of proteins. You know the Krebs/Citric acid cycle of respiration? Each of the stages of converting one chemical into the next is catalysed by an enzyme (protein).

The list goes on...

i've got been a vegetarian for 40 years. you may actually get all your food from plant components, yet all protein isn't a similar. Proteins are made up of mixtures of amino acids, countless that are necessary to human well-being. a number of those are basic to get from plant components, and others are greater uncommon. in case you consume milk products like cheese, that helps, or in the experience that your weight loss plan includes eggs, it extremely is a good source of protein. Tofu and different soy products are a great source of centred protein. besides to protein, you'll be careful approximately getting a good stability of supplementations and minerals. it extremely is extremely helpful to think approximately a each and every day supplement. There are some extremely for vegetarians. do a sprint analyze, refer to different vegetarians, and you will artwork it out. good success!

Proteins are used to make anything and everything. If you sucked all the water out of an animal or a plant all you'd be left with essentially are different types of proteins.
