Well man I must admit I hate the Vikings so I'll try not to be to harsh on you here. I think since they do have a great running game set up for this year and a good offensive line they could go 9-7. BUT the QB situation sucks and they don't have many play makers at the Wide Reciever position which will hurt them. Their Defense is getting old and they lost their Defensive Coordinater (Mike Tomlin) which could all hurt them. So considering that I will put them at a 7-9 season. Running will help but they will be a one dementional team. They could make the playoffs though because of the weak NFC and their division is bad too. The Bears are decent but lost their best running back, also have no QB or wide recievers, also lost their Defensive Coordinater who went to San Diego and one of their star linebackers is threatening to sit out most of the season. The Packers will be the main competion for the Vikes this year and I think have a edge because of the veteran leadership of Favre. But don't worry
7-9 and a possible playoff berth is always good.

I agree that 8-8 may be a best case scenario.
Jackson has a stronger arm than Johnson did last season (who doesn't?), but he's inexperienced and has nobody at the WR position who will scare any defensive coordinator (unless Sidney Rice has the rare dominating rookie season from a WR). The run game will take some pressure off Jackson and the passing game, but until the passing game becomes a legitimate threat, teams can stack the run and make it less effective than it could be.
Defensively, they should still be tough against the run, but their pass defense will be a huge question mark unless and until someone, anyone, can get any kind of pressure on the QB. Until then, teams will pass first, run second, and beat the Vikings that way, like New England showed Minnesota's opponents how to do last season. And losing Tomlin to the Steelers will hurt. He's a great coach, and players loved playing for him.
Which brings us to Childress, who has yet to convince me why Wylf and company moved heaven and earth to get him. His coaching style is as boring as his personality. I think the Jets owe Ziggy a huge thank you for swooping in on the corporate jet and whisking Childress away before they could make the mistake of hiring him.
Quite frankly, I see a 5-11 season for the Purple on 2007.

The Vikings picked up an amazing pick in Adriene Peterson this draft. I think the they will definitely go to the playoffs this year. Look at how much Reggie Bush did for the Saints last year. He was their star player, and they completely turned their team around. With Adrienne, the Vikings will be able to run all over the Packers, and hopefully the Bears. I think the Bears will be the only real competition in the division, except for the fact that Rex Grossman is the worst quarterback in the NFL.

I say probley 7 and 9 this year... I think their Running game could flat out dominate... they have Chester Taylor ...The MOST underated runnning back in the league..hes really talented..and plus rookie out of Oklahoma Adrian Peterson... I think the ground game will work really well..as for passing..its iffy becuz of their QB's expeirence...and Their Defence will have to play Really good Football...if their Defence could play really good football and Winfeild and that secondary could start making some turn overs...i think the Vikings could be pretty good with in time...maybe towards the end of the season if they combine as a team and have some chemistry..and the coaching/player bonding is good...

i think they will have an outside shot at the division title. The bears will NOT have another season like last and the Vikes have some good players. I think they can win anywhere from 8 to 11 games

very poorly. although in the nfc, i guess you never know. tavaris jackson didnt show much progression last year, and the team failed to help hime at wr, adrian peterson will take some pressure of jackson, but that can only go so far. lets not forget that mike tomlin has exited and there are still holes at cb, s, and a weak pass rush will severely hurt this team. if the vikings are going to win they need to win with stout run defense with pat & kevin williams, and a consistent and efficient ground game, otherwise there is no way this team can win more than 6 games.

Bad about a 6-10 record. No QB ,two good backs that will underacheive and an OK d that will suffer without defensive guru mike tomlin

I will win a lot of money betting against the Vikings. They will probably go somewhere around 6-10 and will cover about 25% of their point spreads.
