Why are these people answering questions to tell me they dont know?

no it doesn't bother me.
sometimes that is all the question deserves.
and for those that are just after the 2 point, let them have them, even of it is against community guide line.
eventually they will realize that giving a well thought out answer might take a little longer, but can get a best answer, which is 10 point plus the 2 point, and if it is a good answer, it can get thumbs up which adds even more points.
so in the long run they are really loosing point, by playing their game.

Seriously yes it does P**s me off when I see I don't know as an answer to a question. The only reason I can see for someone doing that is to get the 2 points

Those people who answer "I don't know" are just
answering a lot of questions to acquire points!!
They dont have the desire to help anyone except
themselves. Those kinds of answers will always
be a problem on this site, and, YES, I do get very
irritated.

They answer so they can get their 2 points. Just ignore those responses. They aren't here to help people out.
