Studies show that not executing a murderer leads to 5 more murders.
Likewise, for each execution, 5 fewer murders are committed.
Do Dems like killing those 5 innocent people by not allowing murderers to be executed? Is that the Dems' goal?

Yeah, right. What studies? By who? The "We Hate Democrats and Want to Make Stuff Up about Them" Association?
Stopping a murderer only causes more murders if the person is let back out on the street. That is not what Dems are asking for at all. You are completely making up statistics and misrepresenting their side of the argument. Why? Likely because you don't know what you are talking about.
Here is a question for you: if capital punishment causes less murder, then how come the vast majority of countries that have eliminated capital punishment have smaller murder rates than we do? Hmm...
Regarding above link: notice the following: All those studies are at least a few years old, and most of the articles dealing with those studies point out that the methodology of those studies has been successfully questioned. No one wants to discuss the specific methodology, however, because the methods ARE subject to criticism, and rightfully so. How do you really test this? You can't, and it is all conjecture. Meanwhile, none of those studies have been able to explain why states with death penalty do not necessarily have less murder than states without it. None of those studies can explain why other industrialized nations that have no death penalty still have less violent crime than we do. None of those studies deal with the dozens of innocent people who have been proven through DNA to have not committed crimes for which they had been sentenced to death.

Christian ideas-set: Like optimum matters, you will bump into Biblical help for the two area in case you look not challenge-loose adequate. As Shakespeare as with out delay as wrote, “the devil can cite Scripture for his objective.” There are definitely many passages indoors the previous testomony that help capital punishment, generally for extremely gentle offenses: - Adultery (Leviticus 20:10) - Blasphemy (Leviticus 24:sixteen) - Breaking the Sabbath (Exodus 31:14 & 15) - Disobedient infants (Exodus 21:15 & 17; Leviticus 20:9) - Homosexuality (Leviticus 20:13) - Failing to regulate your cattle (Exodus 21:29) - not being a virgin on your wedding ceremony ceremony evening (yet given which you're a woman - Deuteronomy 22:20-21) the nice and snug testomony (starring Jesus) is often ANTI-dying penalty. as an social gathering, indoors the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus praises mercy (Matthew 5:7) and rejects “an eye fixed for an eye fixed” (Matthew 5:38-39). James 4:12 says that GOD is the sole guy or woman who can take a life indoors the call of justice. Romans 12:17-21 warns us against answering evil with evil, and assures us that God will see to justice indoors the afterlife. In John 8:7, Jesus components out that each physique human beings are imperfect, and subsequently unqualified to verify whether somebody lives or dies. my own nicely-time-honored is James a million:20: “For the wrath of guy worketh not the righteousness of God.” there are numerous, many advantageous problems with capital punishment (that I won't get into right here), yet in uncomplicated words from a ethical point of view, it incredibly is exceedingly sparkling that Jesus did not help it. actual CHRISTians shouldn’t, the two.

POST YOUR SOURCE. Thanks! What I read is they did studies on those who HAD death penalty, and then put a moratorium on executions. It doesn;t deal with the fact that those of us who don;t have the death penalty still enjoy a lower crime rate than thos ehwo do...and even better then those who do, and then try and do away with it. Interesting research! I wonder what would happen to those same states after 20 years, when it becaomse part if their culture? These studies have all happened in the past 6 years.

If the death penalty did deter future murders, here in the United States, then why does the United States continue to have one of the highest violent crime rates as opposed to many industrailized nations who have abolished it?

I am not a democrat, but I am against the death penalty. Life in prison will protect society and at the same time prevent the murder of possibly innocent people (do you know how many death row inmates have been acquitted due to the discovery of new evidence).

Here's a news flash: if convicted murderers and those committing violent crimes are incarcerated for life, how can they murder anyone?
Here's another statistic you should search on Google: throughout history, how many people have been wrongly executed? The answer is staggering.

There must be something wrong with my computer because I can't see where you cited your source.
Regardless, I support the death penalty and loathe the kind of folks who tried to save Tookie just because he wrote a couple of children's books, BUT, I think you're full of it.

WHAT studies ... site them
After further research I have found that NONE of these studies have been PEER REVIEWED
So conservatives will totally embrace ANY disputed study that tells them that their government should KILL more people,
but will believe NO STUDY, no matter HOW peer reviewed, that tells them man might be causing his own ecosystem harm
typical and sad...
