I'm a Blue Jays fan. We have two play-by-play guys in Jerry Howarth and Mike Wilner, while Alan Ashby does color commentary.

The PBP guys are good, but I miss the late Tom Cheek who I heard so much while growing up. Ashby is doing okay, especially considering this is his first season.

I usually prefer radio announcers to TV, but we're fortunate on many Jays broadcasts (those on Sportsnet) to have Jamie Campbell, who I believe is an outstanding play by play guy who really understands the game.

As a Cubs fan, I am proud to have Pat Hughes and Ron Santo calling the games on the radio. Pat is fantastic. Ron, as much as I love the guy and think the should be in the Hall of Fame, can be pretty brutal on the air.

Example conversation between Pat and Ron, talking about Alfonso Soriano's slump to begin the season:

Pat: I'm not worried, because as they say, Ron, the cream always rises to the top.
Ron: Yeah. Did... Have you ever had cream?

Other than that, Ron really just groans a lot.

I follow the Cubs and listen to Ron Santo and Pat Hughes. Ronnie is one of the most energetic people to listen to. He's a Cub legend who should be in the Hall of Fame. He's not really a good radio voice but who cares. He gets into the game and when theres a bad play, and Pat's trying to break down the play, Ronnie is usually screaming in anger...it let's you know your not the only one going crazy. Pat's got an awesome radio voice.....simply awesome. He is very precise, and I really like that. But the two have fun when they're calling the game. You should have heard Ron try to say Jarrod Saltalamacchia last weekend in the series against the Braves...it was hillarious. One time a couple years ago....he caught his hairpiece on fire when they were doing play by play....I was listening and almost wrecked my car laughing listening to them.

Down here in southeastern NC we have New York Yankees radio affiliate. John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman are in the broadcast booth.

I love John Sterling, he's got a good voice and knows how to paint you a picture of what's going on.
As for Suzyn, I don't really like her. Not because she's a woman, she's got a great voice for baseball, but she's not smooth in her delivery. When you're on the radio, you have to keep things flowing and she doesn't do that.

I follow the Royals. Denny Matthews is the radio voice of the Royals, has been since the first game in 1969. He does a great job. I always mute the TV broadcast and listen to him.

I am a huge Red Sox fan and since I live in Chicago I mostly listen to them on the web radio. Joe Castiglione and Dave O'Brien do the broadcasts. I love listening to Castiglione and O'Brien is alright but I preffered Jerry Trupiano. Castiglione and Trupiano were fun to listen to and wish they were still together on the radio. The new guy is good though.

Yankees games on CBS

John Sterling i have no problem listening to, but Susan I won't even respect her enough to list her last name because she is that awful. I wish I lived closer to NY to get games on the radio.

I follow the San Francisco Giants and it is Jon Miller and Dave Fleming who does the radio games. I like the announcers; however, this years team is stinking last. I don't like my team. can't even win games. Can't wait until 2008.

Cardinals, their announcers are John Rooney and Mike Shannon. Shannon is an idiot and sounds drunk most of the time but really funny and has good stories. Rooney is okay but bland and doesnt really get into it

Love the cubs since birth. Ron Santo tells it like it is. He is a real Cubs fan...not afraid to show his disgust when they foul up... and cheers when they don't. Pat Hughes is his sidekick, less emotional, but knows his stuff.
