Shouldn't we be more concerned about homelessness and crime than stupid ecology???

Because problems like homelessness and crime have been and forever will be around no matter how hard we try to fix it. And those issues also do not effect everyone. And only a few people in power can actually do anything about these issues.

Ecology (environmental issues) on the other hand effect everyone on the planet (rich, poor, every nation, future generations). And everyone has a hand on trying to prevent it from getting worse.

I know you have heard about this a million times but read more about global warming. Fully understand it and how it will effect everyone's future and future generations.

Ecology has to do with the ecosystem - that is the environment in which we live. If the ecosystem is getting polluted because of the huge society of people living on the planet - then that IS a social issue. The Ecology is a Social Issue. Ever wondered what the bumper sticker means that says: "Ignore the environment, and it will go away."?
