Easier said than done, but I wouldn't worry. At this early stage it's incredibly difficult to tell if a baby is moving. Has he been able to hear a heartbeat yet? I wouldn't panic unless you start bleeding, because that's what happens if a baby dies inside you. And I'm talking bleeding a lot...not a little. Relax, though, and while pregnancy can be terrifying (I know first hand) you should try to enjoy the wonders as well. I'll pray for you and your baby...I hope next March(?) you're counting 10 perfect fingers and 10 perfectly pink toes.

Well, first of all congratulations on your current pregnancy! Second of all, if your doctor is not meeting your needs then you need to find a new care provider right away. Third, get a pregnancy book and educate yourself. Pregnancy is full of a lot of pains and worries, and you should learn about what is normal and not. But, like I said above, find a new doctor. You should be able to call and get an answer, day or night, if you feel you/your baby are in danger. But, going to L&D so much IS excessive. While the doctor can not have your baby taken away, such behavior could lead to an investigation by the hospital social worker which would be inconvenient and troubling. As for the UTI's, they are common during pregnancy but you SHOULD be treated for them. Try to go to your doctor during the day, though-and if your OB is not available, find a family doctor or again, find a new OB. That is NOT what L&D is for. You might want to make sure you are drinking plenty of water-it will both help prevent UTI's and keep you well hydrated. Being dehydrated can cause contractions. Urinate frequently-do not hold it in. And, try eating yogurt and/or drinking cranberry juice. Your mucous plug can be lost many weeks prior to labor and delivery, and is completely normal. It rejuvenates itself. That is nothing to be concerned about. I hope this helps, and I hope that you will find a new OB. For now, settle down and ENJOY your pregnancy.

umm can we say ultrasound? Did your doc order an ultrasound to find this out for sure? I know at 6 weeks they won't see much, but i am sure they could find out if your baby is all right or not. We had our first ultrasound when we were 10 wks because we were unsure of how far a long i was. Our baby was moving all over the place on the ultrasound, even turned and looked right at us so we got a face picture of her. We are now 6 months pregnant and have just found out we are having a baby girl on oct 4th give or take a couple weeks. As some of you know it should not be called a due date, but a due month. The baby can be born anywhere between 38 wks and 42 weeks and be considered full term. The 38 wk point is because the lungs are fully developed at that point. There are exceptions though, my cousin just had her baby girl at 6.5 months and she is breathing on her own and doing great!
Good luck

At 6 weeks the baby still looks like a grain of rice and the arms and legs have not developed. Don't worry about it.

I was told you don't feel movement until the 2nd trimester, so no, don't panic! The baby is still sooo tiny and protected by fluid that you can't feel movement.
