No. Just feel luckier than sin that I had the time to troll through antiquarian bookshops, book markets around the globe, bookshops, etc, and that I could afford to fill it like I have, and grateful for everyone who buys me books instead of chocolates for my many birthdays (sometimes I decide to have three or four birthdays a year).

Great question. When I moved last summer, I went through my library and discovered an astonishing amount of terrible fiction, which I have since sold on Half.com or Amazon. I have mostly classic literature left and some contemporary writers who aren't too bad. I don't buy bestsellers unless I want a laugh. I'm on a re-reading kick right now. I just re-read The Catcher in the Rye and am in the middle of The Diary of Anne Frank (which may be the saddest book in the friggin' world).
One day, I'll get to all of those literary theory books, but the nonfiction I'm most looking forward to (and not yet ready to tackle) is Copleston's nine-volume A History of Philosophy.
Take care.

I'm very proud of my personal library and someday I'm going to have a room that's the Library. I'm especially proud of the diversity of books in my library: everything from early 1900's text books, to medieval, romantic, renaissance, and modern books in all genres. It's always nice to take a literature course and not have to buy the book because you've already got a copy of it ... with notes from the last time you used it!

I am proud of my personal library. I love to grow my book collection and I can't wait to actually build a library when I buy my own house!

Over 50 years I have usually bought, occasionally borrowed but never stolen (honest) a horde of books that are the bain of the removal man's life. It's got to the stage where we end up with more boxes of books than you would believe and they are heavy, too.
The library was immeasurably improved, however, when I persuaded Mrs J S that the best place to pack her Sydney Sheldon/Jackie Collins trash was in the bin. Yay!
I know that I will never read 90% or more of these books again, but they are part of my life and will not leave the house until I don my wooden overcoat.

Yes. They are all arranged into different genres/categories. I have every book of a 56-book series. My library is constantly expanding. I'm only in middle school, but I have over 350 books. I've got time to get some more.

Not of books, no. I read them then get rid to charity shops.
Kept a few classics, and have kept the childrens books of course.
However I am very proud of my C.D library! Will never get rid of them for some reason, even all my old records are upstairs. I cant bring myself to clear them out.

I would love to say YES! YES! YES! But the answer is no, because I don't really have the space to really show it off, and most of my books are doubled up so that you can't see them all. Also, I can't seem to be able to get books BEFORE they are publshed, which would certainly make me chuffed, don't know if that counts....
Either way, my library will continue to grow for as long as the sell great books, and book cases in which to place them!!

Yes! It is a mixture of genres in my favorite tastes and classics. It is also beautifully arranged, and growing all the time. Everyone should be proud of their personal library and take the utmost care of it!
