Well, it is hard to say exactly because each team is different. But It would probably be helpful to maybe take some gymnastics for a year or so, so that you can get more flexible. You will definatly use those skills in cheer. But my advice is to talk to the cheer coach at your school when school starts back up again. Also when you try out, have confidence! Don't be shy or nervous. GOOD LUCK!

ok i have been a cheerleader for a while tryouts vary from schools, certain schools require different things. I had to do all three splits, just a simple cartwheel and roundoff , i had to make a sideline cheer and once we had to do a stunt, and a few other things like jumps but like i said it varies from schools.

Exactly what you have to do differs for each school. In my school you only have to know how to do a bow and arrow or scorpian if you plan on being a flyer. For my try-outs all we had to do was learn a cheer and a dance.

Lol.. well.. I'm not too much of an expert on.. umm.. cheerleading.. but I've seen cheerleaders who just dance and jump up and down with those fluffy things so I don't think you need to do all that stuff.. but like I said.. I'm not an expert! Good luck!

Ask the coach. I certainly don't expect my kids to come in knowing everything. However, I do want them to have some idea of what it's all about when it comes to jumps and motions and how to dance.

Good luck with trying out! :^D

At our college they want us to spirit in. whilst spiriting in we've the prospect to do any tumbling and stunts all of us understand, even though it incredibly isn't any longer required.( the tumbling and stunts arent required) They tutor us a cheer, chant, and dance some days in the previous tryouts and we carry out them at tryouts in communities of three. we are required to do a toe touch and a pair of extra jumps of our decision. Our score sheet exhibits that they are looking for: character/eye touch/facial features/enthusiasm/smile. well-known visual attraction/neatness. motions, sharpness, executions. and voice projection for the time of the cheer and chant. synchronization, well-known dancing potential. sharpness. and smile and facial expressions for the time of the dance. and for the spiriting you get better factors with tumbling. yet whilst your tumbling isn't super i does no longer reccomend it in view which you could desire to finally end up scoring a three no count number if it incredibly is damaging, yet without the tumbling you could desire to score a 10 if it incredibly is physically powerful. yet it incredibly is basically at my college, i'm confident your college is fairly comparable. in case you arent required to positioned on something particular, i might reccomend you place on soffe shorts and a tee shirt on your college colorations. Have a neat pony tail with a ribbon interior the colour of your college colorations. Have tennis shoes(the lighter in weight they're, the extra useful). and don't positioned on too lots make up. from now on questions approximately attempt outs you could digital mail me. My touch information is on my yahoo solutions profile web site.
