They definitely have the talent to win the division. There is still 100 games left in the season. With more than half the season to go, anything can happen.

Well, in the next 101 games, the Yankees need to with 10 more than Boston, or 6 more than Detroit. If the Red Sox play at .500, the will go 90 - 72. For the Yankees to win 91 games, they need to go 61 - 40 in their next 101 games. That's a .604 winning percentage. To know what a .604 winning percentage is, a team would win 98 games if they play the whole year at that pace. The Yankees are certainly capable of that, however, the question is, are the Red Sox gong to play just .500. To understand what playing .500 is, in the Yankees season to date, the Yankees are just one game under .500. It's possible, it's difficult, but it will be a fun summer.

"It ain't over till its over".....to quote a famous Yankee.....still 100 games left and the Sox have all the rope they need to hang themselves.......just like in 1978 (someone earlier mentioned this).....they will be there in the end.....the Sox finished 10 games out last year.....they are still the same Sox with only Matzusaka as a new addition....in spite of the last 3 losses he is still a great pitcher but not enough to make up the 10 games out from last year!!

They can...but I don't think they will. They have not consistently proven they can beat the good teams this year. If they could play the Pirates and the White Sox the rest of the way...sure they will come back but that doesn't happen. Maybe I will change my answer if they sweep the D-Backs and take two of three from the Mets.

Ya there's a lot of baseball left to play....they got to hope the Sox have a little bad luck. But remember they can't make it all up at once.

It's possible but not probable.
I think the Socks will still win the division barring any major injuries and if Manny starts playing like he should, they will win by 8 games or more.

You know they can, and will. The Sux fans have been cocky lately, but the players and management knew better.
