Top 5 Point Guards
1. Steve Nash 2 time League MVP Unquestioned leader of the Suns able to facilitate the basketball to positions that are high risk and high reward. Has led the assists column for a couple of years and can shoot 50 percent in the clutch. Not to mention the ft% is pretty impressive. Should have had a 3rd league mvp award
2. Jason Kidd. Age doesn't matter as proven in this years playoffs considered to be a "Walking Triple Double" A point guard who rebounds gets his team out to the fast break. Knows when to score and pass. New Jersey is nowhere without him.
3. Deron Williams. Coming of age for this young guard who definitely helped his team advance to the conference finals. He is a leader who led this team. He is a spectacular great scorer and has a lot of potential.
4. Tony Parker - A sure-fire hall of famer. Ideally a championship point guard on a championship team. Lives in the paint and wreaks havoc with the opposing teams interior. And he's only 25. The Spurs future past Duncan looks pretty good as long as they have this guy. He can pass the ball needs work on his jump shot but definitely a top 5 point guard Need to mention his championship rings.
5. Chauncey Billups - FINALS MVP. Top Free Agent this summer definitely ready to cash in. They guy is "Mr. Big Shot" and reason being. He runs the Detroit offense with limited turnovers and high reward. Only a bloop in this playoff against Cavaliers otherwise a solid 2-time All-Star guard who will be coveted by just about any point guard needy team.
Almost Made the List
Lebron James. You might as well consider this superstar a point guard. He has to facilitate the Cavs offense cause its not gonna facilitate itself. He puts the pressure on him to succeed and is a game changing player. He is a natural front court player but versatile enough to play whatever position needed.
Baron Davis Injuries really hurt his career. But under Nelson he's shown why he was a high draft pick. A very strong NBA guard who gained immense confidence against Dallas. Carried his team the Golden State Warriors almost past the Utah Jazz. Only losing games by free throws and missed opportunities
