i was just wondering peoples' opinions, i strongly discourage the war partly because my cousin fought and almost died in iraq for 2 years, and because of all the other young men and women away from their families and children, and sometimes losing their lives.
PEACE support our troops bring them home ALIVE
what do you think?

I've been against the war since Bush first started beating the drum, back in 2002. I was unemployed, and hoping he would do something about jobs. All the major airlines and automakers and high-tech companies were laying off by the tens of thousands, and it seemed like it had to be turned around. Instead, the crackpot comes up with the idea of attacking Iraq. I remember a comedian asking: "If Cuba attacked us, would we retaliate against Peru?" Well that's what we did, for all intents and purposes. Then to find out there were no WMDs, and even worse, that we can't manage our end of the conflict, was like pure science fiction. The "surge" came in the wake of a November election and an Iraq Study Group report urging the exact opposite, and though Bush insists he listens only to the generals, they keep coming out against the war, and Bush keeps ignoring them, while asking for more money and more time. Naturally, I feel badly about the deaths and injuries and futile waste of our resources. I also bad about our deteriorating foreign image. I feel bad about not finding a job, too - I went back to school, and this summer I'm finishing my third college degree earned since the war began. I hope there will be a job for me in August...

I totally support the war in Iraq but I do not support the way it's being waged. We're repeating the mistakes of Vietnam by letting our politicians micro manage the war. Let the Generals on the ground have full rein and we'll win this war on terror.

Militarily we won the war in Vietnam but people like john kerry and jane fonda caused us to 2nd guess and then we lost because of that. After we left 3 million people were murdered and that will also be repeated.

I'd rather fight them there than here and make no mistake about it they will follow us home.. In fact they are already testing us. IE: Fort Dix, JFK Airport, Mall shootings, VTech, foot basins in airports and schools, prayers in schools... Those are just tests people. They're testing our willingness to give up our country in order to appease them. Do a search on islamesburg (Spelling might not be correct) A training camp right in the Catskills.... They live among us and we need to keep our eyes open.

This is just one battle ground in the war on terror like Normandy was just one battle ground in WWII... Just imagine how the world would be if we had minute by minute news of June 6, 1944....

I believe a major city will have a dirty bomb go off in it in the near future. The government is preparing for just an instance because there is absolutely no way they can stop each and every attempt to attack us especially without securing the border...

Thank your cousin for his service to his country. His efforts were not in vain.

I was against the war from the start. Osama Bin Laden blew up the WTC's - so we should've gone after him and taken him out.

Invading Iraq in response to 9-11 makes about as much sense as invading Canada in response to Pearl Harbor.

So now we've got more brave American troops dying every day - and for what? The administration's mismanagement of this war is nothing short of criminal.

I support the war. I know its unpopular but as a soldier who was in Iraq, I know we are doing the right thing.

What we are doing isn't going to have benefits for a long time, but it will eventually pay off. Spreading freedom and democracy will help to liberate not just the Iraqi's but the entire region.

Not only that but we now have an ally in the middle east where we really didn't have on besides Israel before.

Bush will be judged correct by history if we pull this off. We can do it, we just have to realize it takes time, and we must not pull out before its too late.

So, your cousin signed up to take part in this skirmish (not a war) and did his duty and you're against the whole thing because he did his duty? God you have a small selfish mind. You should be proud of him. He didn't get killed so you should be on your knees thanking your maker that he's safe. The men and women signed up for that duty. I bet you don't even know how long the waiting list is for some to go to Iraq. I guess you'd rather them all be back here looking for a job or maybe on welfare? Please, they are where they want to be.

The war ceases to exist but the policing of a civil war does exist and that is where the support of the occupation of Iraq ends.

No, I don't support it all. This war is a lie. There were no weapons of mass destruction. This is just an imperial act of aggression to take over the oil reserves over there - plain and simple.

No I do not support this war.It was supposed to be to find ''weapons of mass destruction'' so in my eyes it was a bogus beginning of war.It has done nothing but send home our Canadian and American troops in coffins.Although i do believe that it should keep going to get that bastard Osama bin Laden then hopefully the troops wouldn't have died in vain.

I do not support the war, I believe that we went to war for all the wrong reasons and did not exhaust all of our diplomatic options before jumping in.

I also support our troops and want this war to end so that we don't keep suffering needless casualties and broken families.

(let's see how many thumbs down I get for that)

I don't necessarily support the war, but I support the killing of Islamic terrorists.
