They're not done yet. They may be 9 and a half games back but a couple of weeks ago they were 14 and a half back. Actually the Yankees are hotter now than they have been all year.

They've won six in a row. They have the best lineup in baseball. Everyone is hitting right now. Roger Clemens just came back to help the pitching staff. Other starters are pitching better. The Yankees are in no way done for the year.

As a Red Sox fan I wish this were true but not hardly. No one has clinched anything yet and the Yankees brass will do whatever it takes to make a run at the division.

By the way, to the poster who said the yanks are only 6.5 out, they are actually 9.5 out...but I feel your pain about this silly question...

A lot of baseball left. After the all star game I will make my assessments, but there is still a lot of baseball to play. I personally don't see the Yanks catching Boston, but probably the wild card.

the red sox have won 4 outta their last 10. the yanks are now only 6.5 back of them, and in 2nd in the AL East. a week ago they were 12.5 back and tied for 4th
