They don't. If you feel that way perhaps it's because you are dating shallow, selfish girls. Or perhaps you really do need to change.

A couple answers here: I've been married five years, and I'm not always the one that has to give in. Always is a pretty extreme term, and if you're ALWAYS the one that has to give in, there's probably a problem.

Secondly, us guys probably give in more often because we tend to not be as emotional in the short term as women. It's a question of choosing your battles: you can give in in the short term to defuse the situation, then you might find some flexibility later on if you bring the situation up again. At least that way, when you DO feel the need to put your foot down, the other person knows you probably mean it.

You must be doing it wrong.
My wife has a special way to do everything and I choose to not do it her way. I can load and unload the dish washer my way. I can wash the clothes my way. I even fold the clothes my way. She hates my way of doing things, but she also accepts I will not do things her way.
She has come to accept that I am a strong willed person and will by my nature defy anyone who tries to restrict me.
She once tried to show me the proper way to load the dish washer and I replied with, "So I should run the dish washer before you get a chance to see how I loaded it from now. Check"
Its was so funny to see her running into the kitchen to check the dishes ever I turned on the dish washer. I used to just push the on button just to see her run (with the dish washer empty). "Oops. Honey I must of hit the button by accident."
Then there was the time I folded the laundry by daisy-chaining her underwear. Feed the dog peanut butter. Some day she will kill me, but I'm going to have fun until then.

Not true at all. It should be a 50-50 deal. If it isn't you need to re-evaluate the relationship or communicate more to your partner that you don't feel the compromising is on an even keel. Communication for any relationship is key. Listening, even more so.

Relationships are 60/40 deals; the 60 just has to change from time to time

That is just a stereotype. Being in a relationship is about give and take and compromise. If you can't do any of these things then you still have some growing to do.

Do you feel that way? If you do, then the women you know are waaaaay too controlling.

I think both sexes have to be willing to compromise, but neither should be asked to lay down and roll over at command.

Because he is normally the one who is wrong. lol Seriously though..... I think women get so stubborn and set in their ways.....we just always think we are right most of the time. Not saying that's fair or right, I guess it's just the way it is.

If you torture people long enough, they will give in. Ever had to listen to a woman whine? It's enough to make you puncture your own eardrums. Seriously, most men will do anything necessary to make them stop.
