That they need to get rid of the DH.

To be on the major league level you need to be able to field the ball as well as hit it.

So we need to keep paying a DH to stand at a plate four times a game?

Not only is it sad that they still have the DH after 30+ years in the AL, but they have it in all minor league levels, and most games in triple-A use the DH. Just sad.

And you can't say attendance because last year, 6 out of the top 10 in attendance were NL teams.

Nick S.
That's the game was invented and that's how the game was played for more than 100 years before the DH rule in 1973.

I agree. The DH hurts the integrity of the game. Hell, it makes it a different game all together. The DH is a joke and everyone who knows anything about baseball knows this, which is why David Ortiz will never win an MVP.

My favorite part is the people who say "if you know anything about baseball you know the DH is bad" or "it hurts the integrity of the game."

Yeah watching the pitcher hit and then bench players pinch hit for them is so much better than watching a true hitter like Hafner, Ortiz, or Edgar Martinez. With all the money being paid to pitchers let's let them risk getting hurt sac bunting and running the bases. Good one.

You can keep your double switches any day.

the designated hitter is really the only thing separating leagues rite now

if you take out the DH you gotta reorganize teams and players for that matter

lots of players make a living as a DH. Mo Vaughn was a tremendous hitter, but ur sayin he shouldnt have been able to play because he wasnt a good fielder??

The players association is adamantly opposed to getting rid of the DH.

Although I'm not a fan of the DH, I simply wish that organized professional baseball decide one way or another, wether to have the DH or not.

McDonald's needs to phase out either their hamburgers or their cheeseburgers. It's not right that one sandwich has an extra feature that the other does not. Consumers will be confused!

And I still get my choice between paper or plastic at the supermarket. Argh! It just ruins, RUINS my entire day, having to exert critical thinking to make a decision!

Go have a cookie.
