If you are talking about store bought eggs, no there is no chance they would hatch under any circumstance because they aren'y fertilized by a male.

Yes it can if it is fertilised. Broody chickens lay an egg a day until the clutch size is right and then they start incubating. They do not sit on the eggs until all are laid. If they lay fourteen eggs in the clutch, the first egg has been in the cold for two weks before incubation starts. Once the hen sits on the eggs and starts incubating, all the eggs warm up and develop at the same rate so they all hatch at the same time.

You can take fertilised eggs and keep them in the fridge for two or three weeks and then place them in an incubator or under a broody hen. The eggs will hatch. I have done this often enough to know that it works.

tentofield is correct. Fertilized eggs can be kept in the fridge for a while, provided that they had not had a chance to develop yet for any length of time. Many birds lay only one egg per day and start incubating them together so they hatch in generally the same time. Places like Murray McMurray Hatchery sends eggs that are at room temp, but fertile. It's only when the embryo really starts to develop that it is critical for the egg to stay warm. But remember, the hen will leave the nest to eat and void, sometimes for several hours, so eggs are pretty resilient.

no egg that you buy in the store can hatch and if you put a fertilized egg in the refrigerator you will kill the egg as they need incubation (to be kept warm) to hatch

No. An incubating bird requires a lot of warmth. The embryo would die in a refrigerated envorinment.

No, not unless the fridgerator is outside & not working. Eggs have to have heat to incubate.
