My fiance and I were engaged to be married until 3 weeks ago, in which he broke it off because he has been seeing someone else. He owns the home that we live in. I have been paying 1/2 the house payment in lieu of rent, and we have been sharing utility bills. Now that he involved with someone else, he wants me to move out ASAP. The problem is, I live in a small community where rental properties are hard to come by. Also, there are very few houses for sale as well. My closest family member is 2 hours away, so staying with family is not an option. My question is can he force me to leave right now? My rent and utilities are paid thru July 1st. Can anyone give me any advice please?

Is there a lease or rental agreement that you signed to live in the home? If not, and with him as the homeowner, you have no rights. If there is a rental agreement however, I believe he has to give you 30 days notice by law.

No he can't kick you out like that. He has to serve you with a notice of 30 days from the court house. Then you have to move out. But until then you are still alloweed to stay. And I wouldn't pay for anything else and get out as quick as you can for your on self. Contact a realtor and tell them what is taking place and you will be surprised how fast something can come up.

I don't think he can just make you move out. depending on what state your in, there is a thing called palimony, ( alimony is what you can receive if your married) palimony is what you can receive if your not married. I'd look up on the internet your state and it's laws concerning living together. Good Luck.
