Robert Plant. Although Led Zeppelin as a band was a 70's band, they did start in '69 but how he got to that point, as a young man singing in clubs for free hoping someone would see him, working in construction to make a living even though his parents could have easily afforded a descent education for him. That and he is a very talented song writer. Imagine having Stairway to Heaven and Kashmir on your resume. Good luck. I wish I had a teacher like yours. That sounds like a cool project.

The beatles, jimi hendrix, bob dylan, the rolling stones. I would do Bob Dylan just beacuse of the effect he had on the whole 60's counterculture and his lyrics are beautiful Good luck.

Try writing on Otis Redding, although now deceased he had a very interesting life. One of his hits was "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay". Good Luck!
