Pretty much every ex is still an acquaintance of mine. I don't have their # on speed dial or anything, but will occasionally call to say hi and always wish them happiness. I try to end a relationship on good terms...everyone needs closure and in order to stop those bad habits (or whatever ended the relationship) you need to have a good communication with that person.

Yes I've stayed friends with my exe, well I don't know if you'd call us friends but be have stayed amicable throughout and on good terms. After we split up we still spent time together sometimes, although when we both met new partners we had to take their wishes into consideration too. Maybe it would have been different had we not had children together, but it makes it so easier for all concerned it you stay friendly. I'm not saying we haven't disagreed occasionally, mainly over the kids, but we have sorted it out and tried to be adult about it. If we were at eachothers throats all the time the bad feeling would rub off on the kids!

Not odd at all it says a lot about you that you have been able to stay friends despite break ups. I have managed to stay friends with most of my too its not always easy but a lot nicer after all you once had feelings for that person. Good for you

I had to grow up a bit before I could start doing that. When I was younger, I was very much the kind of person who had to destroy all evidence of a relationship once it was over, and FORGET about trying to maintain contact! It hurt too much. Oh, and then there was the spectacular display of psychosis that befell the guy who took my virginity when he decided we were done.
I mellowed out with age, though, and I'm happy to say I've got a couple ex-boyfriends now who are "friend" rather than "ex".

I have stayed friends with a few. I guess it depends on how the breakup went. There is nothing wrong with remaining friends because sometimes your better off as friends then you were when you were together. It doesn't meanyou can never talk to them again. If you get along better as friends then thats great.

I feel like you always try to stay friends with your exes more so you never know if you have to cross that bridge again.
So why not? Now on some you cannot be friends you may even dislike them with a passion but who cares they're will be more freinds that you have than enemies.
good luck

I come to find out that staying friends with exes causes probables when you get a girlfriend, or star drifting away.Jealousy starts to sink in her heart and she realizes what she lost and could have had.

Yes I do, and people too looked at me odd. Between us all, know the relationship is over, I believe it shows maturinty, and the problems solved as adults and are respected by each other, as well as friends and family.

I have never been able to stay friends with any of my exes. Even though we try to be friends we usually try to show each other up and we start hating each other for it.
