The Earlex Steam Caddy IS2000 is awesome. I have an apartment building and use it to steam clean carpet, floors inside kitchens and bathrooms. It does an incredible job on tile. Great for sanitizing bathrooms.
It also can be used as a garment steamer.

are you referring to a humidifier for your house??? or since your question is in cleaning and laundry should I assume you mean a clothes "steamer"??? If it is a clothes steamer you can find one cheap, lightweight & portable available on hsn.com under Joy Mangano My Little Steamer

I have a Bissell steamer and it works pretty good. I believe it also works well with Scotch Guard.
