There really isn't anything considered "normal" when it comes to a newborn's sleep patterns. Each baby is different. I have 4 children and each one's sleep patterns were different as babies and still are (they are now 28, 25, 22, and 9). My youngest was an exceptional sleeper. The first night after she was born, my husband and I nearly had heart failure when we woke up 6 hours later and she was still sleeping!! It was not uncommon to get 8-10 hours from her those first few weeks. She was actually too good of a sleeper and began to fail to gain weight, so during the day I could only let her go 3 hours maximum between nursings but could let her sleep as long as she would during the night (thank-you doctor!). So, while it is not the common way for newborns to sleep, some do sleep long stretches at a time. If the baby is eating enough during the day and gaining weight, than sleeping long stretches at night is fine. Actually, it is a blessing to be enjoyed!

I've been told that 10 lbs is the magic number. My mother said that pretty much when we all got to 10 lbs we started to sleep through the night. My youngest brother was 10 lbs when he was born and started right off the bat sleeping through the night. My 2 month old just started to sleep through the night at she's 10 lbs 4 oz.
As long as your little one is thriving and not loosing weight, then there should be any problem with them sleeping through the night.

Count your blessings!!!! It does happen where a very young baby will do that. There should not be any concern, just as long as you know your baby is eating enough throughout the day. My son slept through the night randomly at that age and then permanately after just 2 months.

Me individually i don't rush it, I basically comprehend that when somewhat one gets to a undeniable age they are able to having the flexibility to sleep inspite of the shown fact that the evening with out feeding. I even have an 8 month previous son who nonetheless wakes up each 2 hours in the midst of the evening. I do choose that he might sleep inspite of the shown fact that the evening. i'm a stay at residing house mom, yet not purely do I even have an 8 month previous, yet I even have 22 month previous twins and that i'm pregnant lower back. i comprehend that I delivered all this on myself, although i don't choose somewhat one that is waking inspite of the shown fact that the evening with a newborn additionally. Like I stated at 8 months previous he's able to going all evening with out feeding. it incredibly is an hazard to hold them and cuddle them, yet at 8 months previous they shouldn't choose that.

They recommend you feed every 2-4 hrs. My daughter is now 9 months & has been sleeping through the night since she was 2 months. At 1 month I wouldn't let yours go over 6 hrs w/o out waking up to feed them.

Lucky you, mine woke up every three hours on the dot and sometimes did not go back to sleep, so you can imagine, I was frazzled by morning, just thinking of the whole day ahead of me. You get used to it. My second child slept through the night at two months.

SHHHHH!!!!! Dont wake the baby
Boy. you are lucky, but make sure the little cherub is eating enough during those day hours and dont be upset when and if this changes in the future.
If you have any serious questions or concerns, or the little one isnt eating well.... call the Dr and get in to see them. Never take chances with the little ones
Good luck

All babies are different. You are lucky if yours does sleep all night long. The doctors say to wake them up to feed them but I didn't wake my son up I let him sleep. As long as they are gaining weight then don't worry about him not waking up to eat.
