using *safe* sex is just pre-conception abortion. every time a guy pleasures himself, he kills millions of unborn babies.
oh the horror.
if you are truly pro-life then you should outlaw masturbation, condoms, abstinence, and abortion.
only then can this unholy slaughter of billions, nay, trillions of babies be stopped!

Great question! I appreciate your sarcasm. Personally, I can't stand those ultra conservaive, right wing Bible thumpers that parade in front of the Supreme Court building. I don't see them lining up to adopt any babies. Bunch of hypocrites.

To everyone who thinks the soul is created at the time of conception, I have question.

Somtimes the cells split. What happens then? Is it now 2 half souls or just 2 full souls? What happens when the cells split and then combine again? How many souls are we talking now? 1? 2? 4?

Following the pro-life logic, sperm is half a soul, and the egg is also half a soul. Is half a soul important or just the full soul?

OK, I'm pro-choice, but there's actually a sensible counter-argument to your point. I tried your argument with someone on this forum just this weekend, and he pointed out that spermatozoa are merely cells with DNA identical to the source organism, and same is true for the unfertilized egg. In contrast, once the zygote is created, we're talking about a cell with the full DNA of the newly forming organism.

I had to admit that he raised a damn fine point.

The biological argument for choice lies in the dependence of the pre-fetal organism on its host (the mother) combined with the ethical dimension of primacy for the sentient being (again, the mother). I'm down with that.

OMG you forgot the EGREGIOUS slaughter of an unfertilized egg every MONTH by every women who menstruates .And WE as MEN bring them FLOWERS when they do it!

I brought up a question a couple days ago no one has answered yet. If life begins at the moment of conception, does that fertilized egg have a soul at conception as well?

If there IS a soul at conception, then why don't (Catholic) women get their fetuses baptised, as a miscarriage or other tragedy could doom an unbaptised baby to purgatory?

Unholy slaughter of millions of sperm, perhaps.
I am pro-life, but I do believe that the life begins at conception.

I'd be interested to see the enforcement of that masturbation ban, though. Let me know how that works out!

Oh the sarcasm is just delicious!

You'd have to stop women from having periods too..... the average woman is killing at least one potential fetus a month for nearly 35 years.

....Are the pro-lifers using Brave New World as their guide to a "perfect" society?

lmao this is a bunch of bullshit...sorry...its only abortion if a pregnancy is terminated. having safe sex has nothing to do with killing a child so dont even try to use this pathetic *** excuse among intelligent individuals. WE WILL LAUGH AT YOU.

IM PRO ******* CHOICE ALL THE WAY LOSERS! i just dont see this as a legitimate argument to support abortion OR to support the pro-life position. l8ter alligator : )

That is totally ridiculous. What about the egg(s) unwillingly dropped by every woman btw. 14 and 50 every month. You consider that pre-conception abortion too? A lonely sperm and an unfertilized egg do not have the ability to form life. It's only once you put them together that it can be considered abortion.

ha ha ha ha that is very funny , very silly ,very in need of more educational materials now back to health class with you.
A re cap to make a baby you must have a male and a female cell prior to that they are just cells and no more important than the green stuff that runs out of you nose. Put them together and a baby begins to grow ,no longer just a cell it is now a valuable human life. You have too much time on your hands or all over them. Now back to class Shame
To the gentle man below I had my baby born at 18 weeks premature and he was baptized . I found out that was not needed as they are Innocent and are in heaven asap, you person you,. purgatory lol

Just so you know, the hardcore religious folk in this country do preach against both safe sex and masturbation. I had a girlfriend once and her mother told me that using a condom was as bad as having an abortion. So not only is your point regurgitated unoriginal crap but it is also incorrect. But nice try smart @$$.

abortion is really a question about when life begins, aside from a few criminal lunatics, everyone believes that murder is wrong. The question is at what point does a person become a human being and thus, to kill them would be murder

I don't think anyone actually believes that a sperm is a human being, it is incomplete and could never grow into a person without combining with an egg.

It is however very resonable (even if you disagree, its still reasonable) to believe that once an egg and sperm combine and it starts the growing process to become a human, that the fertilized egg is a human being and taking its life is murder.

according to your argument, if someone murders a woman, they should be charged with multiple counts of murder, one for the woman, and one for each egg still in her ovaries at the time of her death. and a woman should be charged with murder everytime she menstrates, she should have had sex and gotten that egg fertilized.
