Well, I assume you want "so far" in the 21st century, from January 1, 2001 through December 31, 2100.
I don't think anyone game has stood out above the others. It's more of the importance of the series, so I would vote BoSox over Cards in 4 in 2004 or possibly DBacks over the Yankees. As for 1 game, whether it was blood or paint, I am going with the heroic effort of Curt Schilling. Blood or paint, he was still injured like Emmit with separated shoulder or MJ playing with the flu. Champions rise and mind over matter. Tough for me to say as I like the Yankees, but still just a fan of the sport.
Now if we want to review the entire 21st century, I am going with Game 4 in 2050, when my Cincinnati Reds sweep the New Jersey Yankees (they get a new building "built by Trump" next to his casinos. The Reds win behind the hitting power of Pete Rose's great-grandson, the new all time hit king with 5,192 (1k more than Cobb). This will be followed by the Ohio Department of Correction Bengals winning the SuperBowl in March 2051 (they will be playing 22 games a season by then, thus it ends in March). Much like the prisoners played in the "Gridiron Gang", by 2050 most of the NFL or jrs/srs from college will be in prison, so they allow the Correction Facilities to play in the NFL. By then, the seasoned veterans, my Bengals beat the Florida DOC Pro Seminoles in the Super Bowl.

2004, Game 4 -- Believe it, New England!
2001, Game 7 -- Gonzo bloops one over Jeter.
2002, Game 6 -- five outs to go, and San Francisco is denied.
Single most memorable play -- 2002, JT Snow grabbing little Darren Baker out of the way. Just bizarre that it even happened; there'd never been anything like it before. The batboy rules got revised quickly after that, minimum ages and such.

2001 World Series. Wish the Yankees could've won for the city of New York that year.
A great series none-the-less.

Game 2 of the 2005 World Series. Down 4-2 and Paul Konerko hits a grand slam to take the lead. Then they blow the lead in the ninth and are tied 6-6 when Scott Podsednik hits a walk-off home run. Come on a grand slam and a walk off hr in the same game. I am a die hard Red Sox fan but this had to be one of the best World Series games in recent history.

From a Yankee stand point I would vote for the 2001 Series where Torre blew game # 5 by letting Aaron Boone swing for the downs....instead of laying a bunt getting the run in from third(bases were loaded) and Mariano Rivera warmed up and ready to come in.....by winning this (#5)....we knew that Bectkett would take #6 but we would still come home to wrap it up.......this was a sign that Torre needed to go and here we are still stuck with him....yes, he has done great but he has the best lineup in the "universe" and he can't get them to perform.....I know, they have won 6 in a row and picked up 5 games on the Sox.....but he is still there....need Bob Lemon to come back (ala 1978).......Guidry is already here in the form of Clemens......just need a new manager.....2001 Series gets my vote!!!

It's got to be when Josh Beckett went for the complete game to get the evil empire in game 6, plus it was on three days rest.

2001 Yankees/ D-Backs game 7, 1997 Indians/ Marlins game 7, sure there are a few more, but most of them have sucked lately.
