I would like to save and use an image I found for an avatar on a forum but simply come up with "http://www.cafepress.com/content/global/img/spacer.gif"

I read through the page source and could not find the true image source. Can someone help? Thanks!

The source was there. Your wanted image sat in the background. So, If you right-click and save it, you will get "spacer.gif" only.

It was a T-shirt design. I guess it won't bring no harm to use it as an avatar. But do you realize that you are promoting them? If you do, try the link below.

Okay what you have to do is make an screen shot. Hit ctrl + Print, that will generate an image of the whole screen. You can then paste that image from the clipboard into an image editing program, and add whatever changes you want.

Well, 2 things:

1) you shouldn't be using other site's pictures without permission. However, that's just my opinion. you can do it if want to.

2) the image seems to be loaded dynamically, so you might not be able do link to it directly. However, you can always download the image to your local computer. Then you can do whatever you want with it.

Firefox: right click and "save image as...."
Internet Explorer: right click and "save picture as..."

I'm not sure which image (on that page) you mean, but, did you try, just right-click the image and Save Image As?
