Ford is under contract with Kent County Cricket Club as Director. There was a statement by Graham Jo0hnson, Kent's Chairman of Cricket that they are keen to retain Graham Ford and that they will discuss the matter with Ford after his return to England.

May be the decision of Graham Ford to decline the offer is as a result of the outcome of the discussion.

His 2001 experience with S.Africa, the experience of India's
ex-coach and the present Gavaskar Vs others exchange of wordy duels even before accepting his assignment on the one side and Kent's behaviour towards him on attending interview in India on the other, should have given him an idea where he can have job satisfaction and better working atmosphere.
