My grandma does that a lot, and I try to talk with her and get her out of it, it also happened to me but not lately....
I found this quotes, maybe that will explain why are we getting lost in thoughts......
1-The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....
2-We get stung by the splendor of a sudden thoughts and get lost in it.....

Yes. This question has stymied me. Every time I read it I think of something else. Took me at least a half hour to answer the little I managed to. Spent some time searching "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." What it has to do with the question, I have no idea.

My mind is constantly racing so it happens all of the time. Sometimes I will accidentally do it when someone is talking to me and then they ask me a question and all I can say is, "huh?" cause I wasn't paying attention!
