I ran into that problem myself, when I took in a viewing of the dynamic, high-octane French action film, "District B-13", last year; fortunately, the rousing impact of the film somewhat overshadowed the boosted purchase price of admission.

...still not right, though!!!

Yeah, that's kind of how a free market economy works. The theatre is free to charge $500 a ticket if they want to and you're free to not watch movies at that theatre. Keep in mind, however, that most foreign films get almost no viewers (especially compared to something like Spider Man) and paying an extra dollar or two might encourage the theatre to keep playing foreign films and not switch over to showing the latest Tyler Perry abomination.
