I dont think that all black females think its important to have a big butt. However it is a common stereotype that we do have big butts. My butt is not huge but its not flat, i like it just fine. it is not my desire to necessarily have a big butt, but i'm glad its not flat! nothing wrong with having some junk in your trunk!

It's considered hot to have curves like that, plus, African-American men tend to like big booties-- they find them sexy, along with curvy hips. The black beauty ideal goes much more towards an hourglass kind of figure-- bigg butt and boobs, narrowed waist-- but a tiny waist isn't considered as essential.

Really, it's just a cultural thing that's certainly much healthier then the Caucasian waif style. Black women have beauty baggage like everyone, but they're definately not as caught up with this anorexic-model thing.
