If you do it under the guise of spreading Democracy, apparently it's perfectly OK to invade and occupy any country your little heart desires.
I think Bush really took manifest destiny to mean globally.

an interesting analogy. Americans occupied under false intelligence...making the occupation illegal in the first place. And they continue to occupy and add more troops.
Remember, spreading "democracy" became the justified reason for war once the WMD story became untrue. Looking at this from a legal standpoint, Americans DO NOT have the right to spread their form of government to another country. Mexicans do not have the right to illegally cross the border to pursue happiness. Can doing wrong justify pursuit of happiness? I think not!

Sure, get your president to contact the UN and write them out a detailed account for the reasons on invading the US and plunging it into economic depression and disrupting the American way of life.
That should do it. Bush had to outline the reasons and ended up having to change it many time before the UN gave their thumbs up.
Think your president has what it takes?

Yes, they do have the right. Any nation can invade whatever nation they want. The question is do they want to die? It is about the power not the right.
