The registry is where Windows keep most of is settings. Any Application can also write in there to keep there own settings. User information, hardware information, encryption keys, almost every configuration needed for your computer to work is stored in there.

Now when a setting (a registry key) is corrupted or if it has be modified, it can cause your computer to have all sort of problem. So in this case, if you change the key, it will resolve the problem.

A common case, is where a registry key is used to load program on windows startup. By one click, you can remove thoses program and therefore solve a problem.

Youre not very specific about the problem being solve by this, but yes, this is very common.

Works by searching your system registry for invalid entries, such as those left over by previously uninstalled programs.

When an invalid entry is found, it removes them, reducing your registry size. Can also help improve system performance and stability.

Theres more than one click I can assure you, I use it daily.
It works, and does a pretty good job of cleaning out unused registry items.
