Nope, windows 95 cannot be update at all in fact, anything below windows xp sp 2 cannot get any updates from windows. And it wont be long before windows xp will no longer be able to obtain any windows updates.

It is possible that your laptop can run Windows XP, but first make sure that it meets the requirements. Honestly, if you have the money to invest in buying XP, I'd suggest that you use it towards a new computer.

Windows XP Requirements:

PC with 300 megahertz (MHz) or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233-MHz minimum required;* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended

128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features)

1.5 gigabyte (GB) of available hard disk space.*

Super VGA (800 × 600) or higher resolution video adapter and monitor

CD-ROM or DVD drive

Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device

absolutely not, it's so slow and underpowered even if you could get xp to isntall it'd be so unbelievably slow. plus i think for xp you hav eot have a minimum of 64 mb ram and 333 mhz cpu or some where about htere. but let me tell ya, if you do install it ont here you will be hating it. if you want to redeem the use of that computer, try using a linux distrobution cuz linux runs lighter cuz it's text.
you could probably get X-windows under linux
but with hardware that slow, even x-windows would be
slow too. so using it as a text based linux machine to learn linux or something would be yoru best bet with that machine

microsoft stoped supporting win95 quite a while ago.. its unlikely you'll find and worthwhile updates

depending on the specs of the system, you might be able to get XP on it, but I wouldnt get my hopes up..

a few of the linux builds on the other hand should be able to get on there without much of a problem

No microsoft updates but try puppy linux, it has tutorials, wizards and is under 100MB for an entire OS.
