Yes, that totally goes against what the points system was designed for. It was designed to motivate people to give answers, but writing "2 points" is NOT an answer!
Also, I hate it when people answer a question that doesn't apply to them. For example if I asked for legal advice, I would hate it for somebody to answer, "Sorry, I don't know anything about the law." If you can't give an answer to the question, because you either don't know or the question doesn't apply to you, then don't answer!
It just clutters up the whole system.

Even if it's just 2 points, they should give atleast a very good description to the asker's question or questions since it looks like they know absolutely nothing at all.

it's only cause they don't have the brains to answer your questions so they just put 2 points down to be an idiot!!! and yes, i agree it is annoying

I don't exactly hate them...but I would say I have a strong dislike for them. It's disappointing when you're kinda expecting some sort of answer to your question, and instead you get "Thanks for the 2 points."
