I'm a 16 year old girl. She's getting her driver's liscence soon and then after that, a car. Try getting her something that might go well in her car. Maybe a gift certificate to an auto store. And if that doesn't go well, then take her on a shopping spree!

Money and gift cards are nice but some people think they are impersonal.
You can always figure out what she likes and get a special gift card at that particular store and put it in a box of goodies.
Take a wicker basket and fill it full of special soaps, perfumes, little jewels etc. depending on what she likes. Then put the gift card in there?

If you're very close to her, do something grown up with her, like take her to lunch someplace nice, or take her shopping for a new outfit, or go get your nails done together. I think the time together would be a lovely way to say that you see her as a young lady now, and not a child.
If you're not that close, a gift card would be nice so she can get a new outfit herself.

A purse! Or a gift certificate for makeup. Or a car??? well better leave that up to the parents... but really I would get her a purse. Get something young and fun and nice, or a giftcertificate to a nice place if you really dont know what her taste is.

a diary.or perhaps a .journal. and don't forget at this age everything you come up with will be old fashion or out dated.I'd say try giving a gift certificate to her favorite mall store. or beauty salon.
