I posed a question before about how it's Gen Ex's time to stand up and be the driving force behind economic and social issues in this country. I then stated that our economical and social activiity is focused more on the baby boomers who care more about themselves then future generations. I was called an "ingrate", "bast****", and a few other choice words from the baby boomers. So who's with me? The baby boomers just don't get it right?? They just don't get it...

The problem with you right off the bat is you need followers, you obviously can't stand on your own 2 feet. You don't want to hear the truth, and by the way, what don't they get? I will tell you though what most of these these young people nowadays don't get, they lack responsibility, character, and being mature in general. They would rather be followers instead of leaders, they are lazy and inconsiderate, they are not polite, they are loud and show no respect for anyone. They walk around with their pants hanging off their butts, piercings and tatoos all over their bodies, they will do anything to get attention just like your doing right now. Most of these 18 to 30 year olds still live at home and don't work hardley at all either, but they expect mommy and daddy to take care of them. They have no responsibility what soever, and don't want to be responsible.I mean go out into any mall or public place and most of these young people are just cussing exteamly loud profanities back and forth with no respect for the older people that are around them and the children they have with them.Maybe if all these young people would grow up and show some respect towards others, maybe they would be treated with some respect. But untill then you desearve a bad stigma which you have brought upon yourselves. This "IS" the truth,no candy coating here, just the truth. Now next time you want to steriotype an age group, look at your own first........

You can keep asking this question, looking for enough people to agree but, I believe, your problem is in the way your state the question.

You appear to be lumping all baby boomers into a single mind set. This, of course, is an impossible allegation. It the same as using "all", an absolute.

You are after change. Change happens at the voting booth. Of all the people eligible to vote (including boomers) only half register. Of that half, 30% to 50% vote in any given election.

The problem is not with boomers. It is with those who do not vote.

For a member of Gen X to say Baby Boomers "just don't get it", is like a kid that took a course in high school, telling a 20 year veteran, he don't know what he's doing. And to call them selfish is like the pot calling the kettle black.

I think the baby boomers get it, in fact they got it long before you were born, the problem is that they never passed "it" along. Most generations since are clueless, that is why we are in such trouble in the world today. Once the "baby boomers" are gone, you will see a very rapid decline in most of the true strengths of this nation.

Great query.....Yes, my existence as a child used to be, shall we embrace "functional" as a substitute than "convenient" on the grounds that, I feel as I used to be developing up, I did not think it used to be convenient, as I seem again at it now. Sometimes, it isn't convenient being a child. However, I did not have cash concerns, automobile concerns, and so on. I did not have plenty of frills however I had the fundamentals & I used to be pleased with that. We had a roof over our heads & we by no means went to mattress hungry. My father went to paintings every day, to aid his household & my mother stayed residence & raised my siblings & me. My mom taught me values, morals, well manners, & the entire 9 yards. I had day-to-day chores to do & I do not don't forget getting an allowance again then. My mom taught me how one can do home tasks, laundry, cooking, baking, and so on. There have been apartment regulations & there have been no exceptions made. When I broke a apartment rule, I anticipated to be punished, & I used to be. I had my time to play with my peers, doing what youngsters do. As a household,we worshiped in combination & went locations in combination. (seashore, lengthy drives, force in, and so on) P.S. Maybe your cat is solely curious approximately your keyboard. They are nice at sniffing matters out. Who's "counselor?"

ALWAYS! Most of them still have their heads in the puff of smoke that was the '60s and '70s. They still fight the windmills and think their "free love" was the utopian world we should all be working toward. They willfully forget what a screwed up world it was and remember nothing but blue skies when it was really a very stormy time.

Every generation seems to think the next generation is losing their minds, but this is backward ... and I'm right on board with you!
