What would happen if a 1200 watt battery/power pack with a flash head(photographic) attached fell into water with a human being?

Actually it's a little hard to say. Batteries are DC devices (direct current). Their current is not as dangerous as AC (alternating) current of the same values. The human body reacts differently to DC than AC. People stick all kinds of things in wall plugs and don't always get electrocuted by it....and that is about 30 A of AC.

Hard to say what amout of current the battery would be putting out.

The battery pack might hurt someone to some degree. I don't *think* it would cause severe injury tho, but it would not be insignificant. And it depends on where the current passes thru the body too. This makes all the difference, and that is hard to say.

The person's electrolyte levels, the salinity of the water plus other minerals, what kind of clothing the person has (metal buttons, zippers, etc).

It's an interesting question.....sorry I can't give you more specifics, but I guess my point is, I would *not* expect siuch a thing to be lethal.

Hope this helps.

If the water was pure nothing as it would be an insulator . It is only the impurities that make it conduct the electricity. But if you pass a current through water it will break down into hydrogen and oxygen.probably though it would all short circuit and burn out in less than a second causing the human no ill effects except for embarrassment of falling in.

It would depend on the voltage. If the battery is 12 v. It might produce some hydrogen but unless u came in contact with a terminal nothing.

The human being would be severly injured. Maybe even killed. Whatever goes in water with that baby will be electricuted. And what I said....Severely injured or killed. Don't try it my uncle did once and he died. So trust me don't do it.( Unless you put a goldfish down there!LOL)
