It's terrible that the world seems to want to hate A-Rod.
He's an admirable man. He took the many gifts he's been given and worked them into becoming what is probably going to be the world's greatest athlete.
He is charitable with his money and his time.
He is a good team player. From what I've heard, he is personable, supportive and friendly. He tries very hard all of the time to promote and see the team through.
I hope that people will get over whatever their problems are with him and see what a truly good person he is. We should be proud that he has made so much of himself hoping that we all follow his example.
Yours, Grace

A-rod will never be able to live up to the expectations his $28 million per year contract sets. Unless he can lead them into the playoffs, and actually continue hitting DURING the post-season, no one in the media will "get off his back."

Probably not ever. Since he's the best player in the majors, he'll always be criticized. People expect him to go 4-4 with a home run every day. He is an amazing baseball player. People also expect it because he makes so much money and plays for the Yankees. Because people have such high expectations and don't like the Yankees, he'll never be safe.

i am a new yorker and was always a yankee fan, still am the problem with a-rod is he is good and he is good looking people love to hate that. and the biggest problem people have with A-rod is he is a new york yankee things never die when your a yankee. Think about it...what other major leaugue baseball team has the paparozzi follow them? ahhh none. A-rod did do the wrong thing with the i got it call the one thing you can always count on with yankees is the sportsmanlike conduct, not like boston who says look at me if they get one over on you. joe torre had every right to be displeased with him. like everything it will take time but nobody will forget thats just how other fans are with the yankee team and yankee fans as well~

With his kind of salary? Never! He could help himself out though by having some sportsmanship on the field when he plays and not yell when someone is trying to make a catch, swipe a ball out of someones glove when they are tagging him, go out of his way to throw an elbow at a player when sliding...should I keep going? He is one of the greatest baseball players ever but has absolutely no class on the field.

Never. With the money he makes they will always be on him. Even if they win the world series, he is the world series mvp and major league mvp. The year after that, any performance, no matter how good, will not be good enough.
